MINUTES OF THE LAST MEETING

The meeting was called to order at 7:06 pm at the SKP Clubhouse. Attending were: Cooks, Berson, Dantzler, Austin, Becker, Henley, Crumley, Olson, Marken, Anliker, Calkins & Greene.  Robin McMillen was a visitor. The minutes of the last meeting were read and approved. The Treasurer's report showed the following: $1100.34 in the checking account, $225 (13 gals.) in fuel inventory and $4068.94 in a CD for a total of $5394.28. The Treasurer's report was approved. Bill requested authorization for a $500 payment to Short, $50 certificate for a restaurant & $20 for another gift – a holiday thank-you to those allowing our flying field usage. The membership approved this authorization.

Old Business

1.Roy asked for volunteers to be officers of the club. Greg Marken volunteered to be a director.

2. David Henley remarked that someone had been driving on the runway & that the latch on the shed was left unlocked.

3. Discussion on buying the RC field. No plans to date.

New Business

1. Proposed annual membership dues increase from $45 to 50. This was not approved by the membership.

2. Gary Austin made a recommendation that we have 3 fun flies during the summer instead of 1. Everyone seemed to think that was a good idea. Gary informed us that Jim Tolpin had an article published in the recent "Quiet Flyer".

Discussions -

-Jim Cook mentioned that Grant Smith had a maiden flight today with his beautiful Waco 60.

Congratulations to Jim Cook for the Crash of the Month Trophy.

We had a raffle for the "Crash" certificate and a propeller. None other than Bill Anliker won those great prizes!

AROUND THE CLUB

>…Well sort of. Russ Petersen sent me a picture of his electric powered Telemaster on floats. He says it flies well, and is actually overpowered with an AXI 4000 series out runner.

The plane has a 6-foot wingspan and uses a 6S 4000 MAH battery. Russ uses about ½ throttle for water takeoffs!

HINTS, KINKS, AND STUFF

>The field sure looked good as I was driving home. I can’t wait to get out and bore some holes in the sky. I have not flown since shortly after the Fun Fly!

>The Seahawks are trailing Kansas City, and the wind is howling, so might as well put out the newsletter.

EDITORIAL

This is really more of an announcement than an editorial. My wife and I have decided to sell our house and go back on the road full time. I will continue to be a member of the club and expect to be around some of the time so I can visit with the doctor and the dentist, and maybe even swap a few lies with you folks.

I will continue flying, but my fleet will have to be drastically downsized (see FOR SALE OR TRADE). I expect to mostly be flying small electrics, although I will continue to fly HOG WILD and KAOS as long as possible.

FOR SALE OR TRADE

If you want to list an item, just send me the details including your name, phone number, and asking price or trade-for item. Low pixel count digital (JPEG) pictures are also acceptable.

>From Bill Anliker:

Ed Stuck wants to get rid of his RC equipment and it would be a great deal for someone starting out in the sport. It includes transmitters, covering equipment, flight box and a pile of miscellaneous stuff.  He also has a trainer and a beautiful Cub and biplane, both with new Saito engines. Ed can be reached at 385-4836.

>From Pete Granger

If you want any of the planes listed, just let me know—no offer refused!

Senior Telemaster with OS 91 FS

Balsa USA Eindecker

Lanier Stinger 10 with OS 10

Sig Four Star 60

Midwest Ugly Stik with OS 25

Sig Astrohog with OS 60 LA (I will repair this one in the next few weeks)

I also have a set of used floats that were intended for the Telemaster, but they require some repair.

MONTHLY MEETING—November 14, 7:00 at the SKP Clubhouse. A Big Show & Tell about Jet Engines By BOB BRUSA.

Election fever is sweeping the club as meeting night approaches (actually it is more like people avoiding the plague). Anyway, we will hold our annual elections at this meeting and move on to other things, like the door prize. I am donating my 40 size Sig Smith Miniplane for a door prize. I have added beefed up landing gear that handles our grass strip better. The plane was last flown with an OS 46 FX, so the cowl and engine mounts are set for that engine. The fuel tank should probably be replaced, as I have not flown the plane for about 3 years.
