Meeting Minutes:          (Next Meeting: August 12, 2003, Excapees RV Park)

Minutes of the 7/08/03 Meeting of the TriArea RC Flyers.

The Secretary/Treasurer called the meeting to order at 7:00PM in the absence of the President.  Attending were: Anliker, Stuck, G. Smith, Takata, Allen, Oaks, Ryder, Greene, Phillips, Moffett, Allred, Creedon, Pyles, Dantzler and Henley.  Guests were Jack Lemons and Gary Austin.

The minutes of the last meeting were read and approved and the Treasurer’s report showed assets of $3265.85, comprised of $2596.85 in the bank account and $669 in fuel inventory.  We have 45, 2 and 1 gallon of 15%, 10% and 4S fuel, resp.

Membership:  There are presently 4 or 5 prospective members on the waiting list.

Web Master:  More people are visiting the site.  Dial up is reported slow due to the picture.

Neighbor Relations: Lou Creedon discussed his recent experience of losing his plane in the wrong field.

Safety Issues: Ken Oaks’ recent injury at the field brought about a discussion of general field safety issues.  Taking off starting at mid field and removing glow plugs from behind the prop were some of several suggestions for preventing injuries.

Fun Fly:  The date is 8/16 with 9/13 as the alternate.  Events planned are:  Balloon Drop, Loop & Land, Pylon and Limbo.  It will be a barbecue potluck – bring your own meat.  Pyles agreed to be in charge of the event.

New Business:  Nate Moffett received his solo certificate.  The Safety Officer was presented with a gift of heavy welding gloves to wear when starting his planes.

Anliker volunteered to be in charge of getting the shed painted and several members offered to help.

Crash-of-the-Month Trophy:  Oaks, Wylie, Scott, Greene, Calkins, Creedon and Moffett were in contention; however, Scott was the clear winner.

Takata provided refreshments and the meeting was adjourned.

Submitted by Bruce Pyles for the Sec./Treas.
