Meeting Minutes:  (Next Meeting: 7:00PM, May 13, 2003, Escapees RV Park)

Minutes of the 4/8/03 Meeting of the TriArea RC Flyers

The meeting  was held at the SKP clubhouse at 7:00 PM.  Attending were: Wylie, Anliker, Granger, Crumley, Fitch, Benjamin,  Calkins, Oaks, Moffett, Takata, Pyles, Allred, Hatch and prospective member David Henley.

The minutes of the last meeting were approved as read and the Treasurer’s report showed assets of $3232.06, comprised of $3028.06  in the bank and $204 in fuel inventory.  We have 4, 8 and 3 gallons of  10%, 15% and  4S fuel, respectively.

The Sec/Treas. was authorized to purchase $500 worth of 15% fuel this spring.

Wylie advised that the bird problem at the field could be avoided by leaving the tables tipped up when we are finished flying.

David Henley was welcomed into the club as a new member.  The club membership is now at 44.

The Petersen/Granger book was discussed and the club authorized the expenditure of up to $100 for the copying costs of 6 copies of the manuscript to be made available to the membership.  The club had authorized the use of local photographs, etc., at the last meeting.

Pyles discussed the website and advised that the  Kitsap ARCS are having Float-Fly at Crocker Lake one Saturdays each month.  For more information touch on the "Links" tab on the home page of our web site and look at "Regional/Local Clubs".  You will see the Kitsap Club listed there and can get the exact dates.

Calkins asked if it would be all right to bring some friends to the flying field on Saturday, May 3.  It was agreed that this would be a good idea.

Oaks brought up the question of a separate area for helicopter flying.  The feeling was that if the need became apparent, the area North of the pit area could be mowed for use by helicopters.

The Crash Trophy was unclaimed as a testament to the lousy flying weather during the month.

Cookies were provided by Wylie, Takata and Granger.

The meeting was adjourned and a video on 3D Flying was shown.

Submitted by Bill Anliker, Sec/Treas.

Photos from the field in April:

Welcome back Pete! Those spots on the wings, are they from the birds we're having so much trouble with at the field?

Bruce Scott: staying sharp on the flying skills and the rest of us hoping to fly that good.

April 29th.... the weather finally starts to break at the field this month and we all go flying
